Dr. Mario De Pinto is the Medical Director of the UCSF Pain Management Center.

Dr. Guan specializes in treating chronic pain, including low back pain and neck pain, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome, failed back surgery syndrome and cancer pain.

Melanie M. Henry, MDMelanie M. Henry, MD, MPH
Associate Clinical Professor, Anesthesia

Dr. Henry treats a wide array of chronic pain conditions such as piriformis syndrome, discogenic and facetogenic low back pain, CRPS and cancer pain.  She is highly skilled in both fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided techniques.   Dr. Henry performs many types of pain relieving procedures: epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation and spinal cord stimulation.

David J. Lee, MDDavid J. Lee, MD

Dr. Lee provides a full range of interventional pain medicine with an emphasis on spinal interventions, such as intraspinal injections, Gasserian ganglion, Stellate ganglion, splanchnic nerve, celiac plexus and lumbar sympathetic blocks, radiofrequency ablations, neurolytic blocks, intradiscal therapy, spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal pump; extensive experience in the management of chronic spinal, neurological, musculoskeletal, and cancer pain in a comprehensive pain management program.

Director of Acute Pain Services

Dr. Naidu participates in medication management and interventional therapies for patients with chronic pain for both the outpatient and inpatient settings. He is also the Director of the inpatient acute/post-surgical pain service, for both the UCSF Moffit-Long and Mount Zion Hospitals. One of his main interests is the prevention of the transition from acute to chronic pain.

Dr. Pasvankas specializes in chronic pain management, chronic back pain, chronic neck pain, radiculopathy, cancer pain, neuropathic pain, post-herpetic neuralgia, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), acute pain management, neuromodulation, spinal cord/dorsal column stimulation, intrathecal drug delivery/intrathecal pump implantation, general anesthesia, and regional anesthesia.

Dr. Pham provides compassionate attention to those suffering with chronic pain.  As a full-time provider at our outpatient Pain Management Center, she provides evaluation and guidance on how to reduce or eliminate a wide range of chronic pain syndromes, including cancer pain, chronic neck and low back pain, neuropathic pain syndromes, and complex regional pain syndromes (CRPS).

Dr. Rowbotham is a neurologist in the PMC. His interests include clinical trial design and methodology, neuropathic pain, chronic pain, pain mechanisms, human experimental pain models, herpes zoster and post-herpetic neuralgia, drug development, opioids, addiction research, cancer pain, and ethics of clinical research.

She specializes in chronic pain, cancer, chronic illness, unmanaged stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and relationships.

Dr. Pullins is a clinical health psychologist at the UCSF Pain Management Center. She specializes in the treatment of chronic pain, using cognitive behavioral therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other empirically-supported treatments.
