Patient Education Group

Purpose

The Pain Education Group at the UCSF Pain Management Center provides educational opportunities for patients who experience chronic pain. UCSF and non-UCSF patients who experience chronic pain, interested family members and the general public are invited to attend our free monthly lecture on topics of interest involving current medical and alternative approaches to treat pain.

The educational group is held at the UCSF/Mount Zion Medical Center on Thursdays as indicated:

  • Lectures with discussion following are located at the Hellman Conference Center, Room C-126 at 5:00 pm

The mailing list will provide possible changes of location of the meetings, cancellations, and general announcements for the group.

These groups are not support groups, or meant to replace the education and medical treatment from your primary or other treating physicians/providers. The goal is to provide dedicated time for education and discussion about pain, so that the participant(s) are well informed of the many approaches to manage pain. For patients, the focus is empowering you through knowledge to have more control of your pain and your life.
