Patient Education Group

The Pain Education Group is currently under development.  It is expected to begin in early 2009.  Topics, dates, times and location will be posted on this web site prior to the start of the series.

Purpose

The Pain Education Group at the UCSF Pain Management Center will provide educational opportunities for people who experience chronic pain. UCSF and non-UCSF patients experiencing chronic pain and interested family members are invited to attend these free monthly lecture on topics of interest relating to pain and its management.

The goal is to provide dedicated time for education and discussion about pain, its effect on the lives of both patients and family members, and the many approaches available to manage pain and lead a fuller life.  The focus is on empowering patients and family, through knowledge, to improve their control of pain and quality of life.
