- Ruth Ann Rosenberg Adult Health Center opens, the first hospital-based adult day health center in the United States, 1975.
- Mount Zion opens its Alternative Birth Center, combining home-like atmosphere with the safety of the hospital setting - the first of its kind in San Francisco, 1976
