1957 - 1967
- Friedman & Rosenman join forces with two other institutions to form the "Western Collaborative Study Group" and study 3500 healthy Bay Area men, in whom they were to predict "coronary-proneness" on the basis of objective tests developed over the past few years, 1960
- New out-patient building constructed on the corner of Sutter & Divisadero, to house Department of Psychiatry and the Claire Zellerbach Saroni Tumor Insitute, dedicated April 1963
- Harold Brunn Society for Medical Research formed; Nobel Laureate Sir Peter Medawar delivers first lecture, fall 1965.
- Herman Uhley, M.D., Mount Zion cardiologist, collaborates with PG&E to successfully implement use of novel pacemaker on critically ill patient, December 12, 1958. Read the original article from the SF Chronicle >
- The advent of computers at Mount Zion: Board of Directors authorizes study to determine use of electronic data processing at Mount Zion; data processing department established, 1964-1966
