Mount Zion History
1937 - 1947
- Mount Zion celebrates its first fifty years at the Fairmont Hotel, November 29, 1937.
- Original charter for Mount Zion ends; Board of Directors creates new charter, with emphasis on training Jewish interns and residents and developing research facilities for better medical care, 1937-1939
- By 1939 the research laboratory at Mount Zion has become nationally recognized; the Harold Brunn Cardio-Vascular Research Center opens in a new building on Scott Street between Post & Sutter, January 31, 1941
- The local Community Chest and the Columbia Foundation agree to support the Mount Zion Psychiatry Department and provide treatment for soldiers discharged from the service who need rehabilitation, 1944
