1927 - 1937
- Mount Zion expands its mission as a teaching hospital and develops an affiliation with the University of California, 1927-1930.
- Department of Chiropody is organized as part of the Outpatient Department, 1932
- Mount Zion is first hospital in San Francisco to offer psychiatric services, 1933
- Harold Brunn, M.D., Chief of Staff, initiates medical research programs at Mount Zion, 1930
- Laboratory facilities established for both patient care and research, formally dedicated, January 23, 1931
