Mount Zion History
1907 - 1917
- Acquisition of property and construction of a new 134-bed hospital at the corner of Post & Scott streets; I.W. Hellman donates $100,000 towards construction, 1907-1913.
- Formal opening of the new hospital, "The Hellman Building" on February 7, 1914
- Mount Zion Board of Directors grants leave to physicians to enlist in the U.S. Army; many nurses also enlisted; staffing shortage due to war, 1917.
